Welcome to Central School !

The school is in the Jagdamba Building which is an old wool godown with three storeys. Inside this building are over 30 class rooms and laboratories with latest teaching aids and a Computer lab. On various subjects the specious school library has over 10, 000 books. The whole building is wi-fied. To the East of the building is the Girls dormitory and to the West Boys dormitory. We have 300 boarders in all. The school also has another three storied building in the north which is the staff quarters. Under constructer are another nine staff quarters in the same area. The school has a total of a little over 4 acres of land with a boundary all ground.

The school auditorium also serves as the dining hall on regular days.The school has a standard basketball court, volleyball court and a badminton court. There are facilities for table-tennis and Kho-Kho besides a small football ground.Indoor games like table tennis, caroms and chess are also provided both in the hostels and during school time.

There is a dress designing – tailoring section for girls of class VIII and below while boys take up wood craft, painting. All maintenance work with the school is carried out by the boys and girls. The Tibetan Music and Dance section remains active all through the year.

  • In short the alma mater, looks forward to bring out the fullest potential of a child and prepare him for Life and its varied situations so that he becomes a cultured and responsible citizen dedicated in the service of the community with courage, conviction, vitality, sensitivity and intelligence and take part in uplift of the Human race as a whole.

“Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world” by Nelson Mendela is apt to describe the mission of CST Kalimpong, established in 17th July 1964.

Education for us is meant to develop every child’s character, personality and culture and as much knowledge as the child can assimilate not merely memorize.
